Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Antigua and Barbuda area.
Antigua is the central island of the three islands comprising the independent nation of Antigua and Barbuda.
A few miles south of Antigua, the island of Redonda is quite small, rocky and totally uninhabited, perfect for an exploratory day trip.
The island of Barbuda, on the opposite side of Antigua, is popular among hunters, fishermen and those looking for a relatively more natural and less urbanized experience.
Antigua is the central island in this group, still British in flavor, and popular mainly for its beaches.
The residents claim to have 365 of these beaches, one for each day of the year, certainly enough to find one of your very own which likely will be remarkably beautiful most any day of the year.
The vestiges of sugar plantations and its history as a slave colony remain in the sparse architecture, just adequate for the elements, standing among acres of rolling green landscape. Your visit to Antigua will be an experience of getting away from it all, certainly not the giddy, opulent romp found in some of the other Caribbean islands, but if treated respectfully,
can be an encounter with history from the time of Columbus to the present, and an adventure in one of the last corners of paradise remaining in the world.
